What makes us unique
Church Governance
- We are led by a body of elders – not by ordained clergy
- God has given gifts to each believer in the church – we do not see a biblical role for clergy
- We want to get believers out of the stands and onto the playing field – from spectator to contestant
- We believe that traditions generally diverge from, and often contradict, Biblical truth
Church Practice
- We believe that Biblical instructions about the church are intended to be taken literally:
- Baptism of Believers by immersion – Acts 8: 36 – 38 – Colossians 2:12
- Weekly Breaking of Bread (or more often) – Acts 20:7
- Men are to take on the Speaking/Leadership Roles – 1 Corinthians 14:33-35
- Men should worship with their heads uncovered, and women with their heads covered – 1 Corinthians 11:3-10
